On February 3, 2023, the Director of the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Khayridin Usmonzoda met with the Executive Director of the Malaysian Perdana Dialogue Foundation Rafi Yusuf.
Director of the Center for Strategic Research Khayriddin Usmonzoda welcomed the guest and noted that in recent years, trade and economic relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and Malaysia have been intensively developing, and bilateral relations have reached a qualitatively new level. Bilateral cooperation has been established, especially in the scientific, technical, trade and economic spheres and other priority areas.
Then Usmonzoda Khayridin gave a brief information about the main activities of the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan. At the same time, he stated that the Center is interested in establishing cooperation, holding joint scientific and practical events and exchanging experience with analytical centers of friendly countries.
Rafi Yusuf, Executive Director of the Malaysian Perdana Dialogue Foundation, expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome to the Head of the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan. He positively assessed the friendly relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and Malaysia and stressed that their further development is in the interests of both parties. He attached particular importance to the development of trade and economic relations between the two countries, noting that the potential and real opportunities of both countries in this area are not fully used. The Malaysian side is always ready to expand mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas important for both countries.
Muhammad Rafi Yusuf also considered the issue of large-scale research cooperation between the analytical Centers of the two states as expedient and expressed readiness for comprehensive assistance. In addition, he noted that Malaysia, as one of the economically developed countries in the world, can play an important role in the implementation of profitable projects for the development of the Tajik economy.
At the meeting, the parties also discussed other issues of mutual interest. The parties came to the conclusion that in order to further expand and strengthen political, economic, cultural and spiritual cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and Malaysia, a high-level scientific conference should be held with the participation of prominent scientists and specialists from the two countries on bilateral and multilateral cooperation, factors affecting these relations, search for solutions and strengthen further cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Director of the Center Muhammadzoda Parviz and representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Gulzoda Aminjon, representatives of the Perdana Dialogue Foundation, special adviser to the former Prime Minister of Malaysia Kamarul Naim and a senior employee of the Foundation Nur Suleiman.
The meeting was held in a friendly atmosphere, characteristic of the high level of relations between the two countries.
